From gutters to the landscape for replacement windows to a full basement remodel and everything individually it's time for the Milwaukee married home improvement jokes now. Our gears you're hosed big time Mike may get on sports Radio One 057 FM the fan. A walk of it in the walking airy home improvement show on sports tree 1057 at the fan. I'm Mike when you're alongside this we East Coast in special guest he's a general manager for Carmel builders Lewis why. Loose hurry today Greg might tell you don't good my favorite email you know with coach in basketball this time you're still in that in the playoffs. You know it's I love when they get an email from a cast today Adam and have on the next day. And as I'm scrambling to get to. To get sat in and do some some research on on your company. Are you eighty mil that's his he regarding topics of discussion will discuss anything home improvement sports Mary contract to selections. I'm comfortable be glad to simply wing it if you wish. I fell a drive and over to your office giving me a hug tell figure who is I this is my favorite than a for our pre show up. A meeting today we talked UW basketball for the most part and how so proud of those boys. Who has to play the way they played down the stretch in that tournament showed me a ton about that coach. That coaching staff. And those players and and how much shut guts they had. Yeah absolutely Mike I'm I'm excited to be a Milwaukee basketball fan right now I have been for a long time like we talked about price Bruce pearl's. A second year I've had season tickets and Bennett Brewster but I'm happy about the direction we're going who got a great coach we got. Players who really seem to bought into the system and I think the sky's going to be able and I think you Morgan be really excited where this program goes well. And they were worried get to Mary stuff I promise made this is a sports station so this is an easy one to talk about because I've coached basketball for as long as I have in this area. Do you VI Wendy's verse he puts show every Saturday from ten to twelve and talk high school basketball I can tell you. That the coaches in this area. Really it did there they instill long in the beginning with the decision they're buying in now they'd they'd the guys you've got a chance to meet him. Are all really impressed with. Yeah Lavelle jordans just really a top notch guy I think. Everyone who takes. Time to speak with him really is walks away impressed with the type of person he has. His character his commitment to Milwaukee a logical and only his mother lives here in Milwaukee so I think he's got kind of that that body right he's a midwestern guy. Your what we did like watching him when he played at Butler. A Butler kicked our motion I did this town the stretch but we're glad to see a little bit of that mindset here Milwaukee we're excited about it. And and you should be in view it less again there really get to Carmel builders and there are promised but when you win when he when he shows up. At high school games which he has. Little bit different I think you know coach Jeter as a big fan of I think down the stretch I I didn't see him as much. And and coached Jordan you're certain to see Tom out about. Getting into. You know day in introducing himself candidates had networking with with other coaches and and making sure that he's really wall known within the high school circles. And that that's only QB good treat every athlete you can't see it on the radio but I got a big Salma I think he wants us talking about it well that it's died I am excited about the direction of that program. Hey let's talk if we can't. A ball Carmel builders. Second generation I'm your father started this company correct. Emmitt answered the company in 1979 and I'm very proud to be second generation company there are. Literally millions of home improving contractor is in the United States and the number of companies that last into the second generation. Dwindles down into the thousands yeah. ID I know that and and and being on the show. I for some reason was I have this thing about second and third generation companies that I find it so in trustee and my father was a brick learn a Mason. And none of them are giver boys did you ever take the time to teach has said he that stuff. Maybe tried to two teaches who we just didn't do it very wall so I love the fact. That you can you now will carry on which your father started. Yeah it's it's really exciting and it's something to be proud of and I I tell my dad that all the time he's Allyson Felix and he's down in Florida. Probably a lot warmer than we are homey and good for him by. It is really exciting to see that something and it started out I tell the story tell a lot of people. A lot of the time but he had a a pick up truck and a tool belt. And his first job was to clean out gutters so we joked that his first job was a final latter. So you figure out how to how to clean up these guys and to take that from a company that was just kind doom whatever. In 19792. You're now a design build firm that we haven't is really exciting. Your father's first and Tom Tom he he. That story is incredible to me because he threw it I mean think about this he started Carmel builders his first job. Was to get up and clean somebody's cutters and he went from that. Two were you guys are today. He can you imagine if you order a book about the journey. Of of how how you've gotten Torre yarn now and an all the points. Where he must to stay ahead sleepless nights thinking insisted that Vick correct direction. How are we gonna make money that he arm poised so they can feed their families are we going to the right direction. And obviously he made the right direction he made the right choices. I can believe there were a lot of sleeplessness being a business owner and it has its own unique set of stress yours and I certainly have those sleepless nights on occasion myself. But I can't even begin to comprehend. The idea book where we gonna come up with money right. Right where are wary how are we gonna do this 'cause we need a couple of poise we're camp here right now. I never had that bug moves I never had that I wanna I wanna own a company be my own boss. And I envy. The guys who did because those guys stepped out as you guys you're gonna indeed you're doing now he stepped out and say okay I'm gonna run this. In a matter run it the way that I think it needs spew run. And I pray to god that I'm doing at the right way. Yeah I think that's really the essence of where our company came from and in its usual segued to get into. No walking area I think that's one of the great things about the organization we've got. Almost are about 800 members. Of similar like mining companies people who said hey. I can do a better I can provide better service I can provide a better product I can I can provide a better work environment whatever might be and a lot of people don't know this but the Milwaukee Mary chapter is the largest chapter in the United States in a country people who really. Are committed to to this industry and that that's exciting and it's great for consumers are market because we actually have that. I talk to people around the country friends and on a do you know anybody in Austin, Texas who could. You're Ramallah for Renault and you know they've got like. Builders association of like eight people right you know how do you know who's good. I'd in the thing I like about nary one of the things I love a lot I love the foundation. That that they believing giving back in helping people get either either from high school. To get into the trades ward displaced workers that want to make a change do trades so there's a number things I love about nary. One of the things that I really like is they take pride you guys take pride. In in. In being the best of the past. And you compete with other near remembers yet these these the French ships in the networking. That happens within Mary members it's not like. Look I compete with this guy some never talking to him. An omen of bad mouth him out there. It's hey look we to a really well they might do really well too let's talk about this. If you want to go talk to them that's great you know they're they're fine company. I I like that that you guys compete like crazy yet at the end of the day you shaken hands and having the so. Her a beer or whatever. There we believe in and this idea of community that's actually one of our our key. And pennants of of their organization it's a community of remodeling professionals. And in the community not everybody has always necessarily. Get along but a good help the community he has respect right and pat Gillick we have that and I feel personally. Went homeowners selecting contractor of their choosing between me or one of our peers in Mary. And if we don't win the project if we don't become the counter communities from they've chosen one of our other professionals Joseph will be a little disappointed surest. But I understand that you know what there was probably a reason there is a better fit. And sometimes that's a that's why we don't all do things exactly the same weight choose the right fit and you're going to be happy hitches in their ticket Tom was a past president there yeah my father's past presidents. Point. The Rome back about 89 years now. Yeah a while ago and and so you you heard all the stories about. A from him. About the strength of near you're not gonna be a president Mary if you don't firmly believe in in the mission statement and and attraction that that new areas go wait. So for him to be past president that's something that that you obviously. Will continue you you certainly believe in aryan what they'd they provide to. It's rumors yeah absolutely I think it's a really critical. Piece of the of the community again to have that this group or for mollen professionals. We're going to try to set some standards for. Behavior for actions for just knowing where consumers can go to get somebody who's going to be actually helping them and that necessarily just telling what they want here. You know one of the things that nary provides and I bring it up all the time and it's not used very often. But as a consumer. Myself the fact that if if I have an issue with Mary company that I'm working went. We can take this to nary office. And sit down face to face have a couple people were mediator to through to say okay what's the issue let's get this thing Kara. Work if you just go with you know some kinda side of the street that has a truck connect and that latter period eat there really isn't any safety net there. Yeah it's as though the of the mediation arbitration process Mary's is a real value to consumers and a contractors because. The reality is reasonable people can disagree right you can get to a point where there isn't necessarily. Somebody is wrong in someone's right here you know that the horror stories are always very clear cut like okay this person got. Screwed over writer contrary this person got ripped off but there is there going to be situations and we seem to come through where you know what. Both sides have a good point so let's help them come to an agreement so it doesn't have to sit in court it doesn't cost people tens of thousands of dollars though. Mediate a thousand dollar dispute. How busy guys right now karma boulders were very busy it's it's a good market right now I agree more I mean it doesn't last forever we all know that so you we have to be. Putting our seeds in the ground because there'll always be highs and lows right now it's good right. I'm but yeah it's it's been a good a good year for us. Great website by the way looks really gut thinking yeah do you go to Carmel builder stacked comets won work Carmel builders dot com. Through located on the nominee falls phone numbers 262. 25520. To thirty. Again attacks from a a guy that I I read you like have a lot of respect for Astro city loading so Kyrie to Perry a -- here is great we did. They're present for him in his left down let's last year and and he. Jersey UW fan as well so we talked basketball humid I. He his tax was a term robo is I love those guys simply so sailor Lewis for me so. A teary thanks for Lewis no skid to break out a set to break. We'll continue our conversation he's loose wire to general manager and owner. Of Carmel builders again Carmelo builders dot com for more information this is them walking area home improvement show. On sports Radio One 057 at found. The fans. You're listening to an airy home improvement show with big time Mike may giver and only on sports Radio One 057 FM the fan. Your question to lie and made 1057 FM the fan dot com. Welcome back to the more you hear homered for richer wants sports Radio One 057 FM the fan. I might be given once I'd like coasting and special guest he's the general manager for Carmel builder's he's Lewis wired. Lewis I'm here Webb said it was start. With this. Are when when when a company puts their philosophy and basically their mission statement right in righty on their website I love to read it. And what I'd like to most by yours was the first line. Carmelo builders we believe in homes. Not house. And I think that. Look I grew up on the east side it was a large Irish family right weaved all these kids in the house is six we do every kids and an. Arsenal is a home. In eighty it truly was a home and I know the difference between a house in a home and I like the fact that Carl builders puts it right out there's this is what we believe. And die like that you guys that's a great first statement for your philosophy mission statement. Well it really goes back to what was my father's idea. In founding this coming in first voice which Rose partnership with homeowners. Getting people. Into position where we can really help them not just. Sign a project that just do something you know you got the texts from a Gary before the break and in Rivera was early Colin because it's an well. Or old story you'll neighborhood dome and his wife Donna really wanted him captured the essence of what that home laws and so we're able to come off without pressing consultant team or design team in and I wasn't directly involved with a lot of that but. When it came together this is really really wonderful. Improvement to their home where now they're family has a place in space that that. Makes it happy to come into it and it's really important. I'm really passionate about improving homes and not just letting them go you know I think it's it is one of the saddest things that if I could rewind time Roger. We get these beautiful beautiful homes and Milwaukee there's just gone. They're done you know you do drive down. Sure part Gary drive down our Roosevelt boulevard Sherman. And you're gonna see amazing amazing Holmes is just. And fortunately. Good luck go had been let go self we can stop that just great homes. What a great thing for the communion four for all of Milwaukee. Do you know in and it to go off what you guys said what what happened in in some of those neighborhoods. In in some of the neighborhoods all over you know southeast Wisconsin is is those homes became house's. I you know didn't it was just a house for somebody was replaced at till later had an have a little thinner self and wasn't a home. Were they embraced it. And said look we you know let's bring our family in let's let's fix this to make sure that that this is our home Allen for today but for the future. And I like that that's what white. Your philosophy is at at Carmel builders. What gets Hewitt said it died and I did day to day basis when it EN I know you guys to a lot of of different things. And karma -- really get into all the things that you guys do but you is that as an owner of Carmelo boulders what gets you excited. Ari is it when somebody is looking debt to build a new home in addition. A kitchen remodel what what's out for you is is man this is perfect this when I'm looking for. My favorite the two favorite things that I really love. Number one is when a get a chance to sit down with with clients at the end of a project in just. And say hey I'm like oh yeah well well well well what than what we've improved upon. And you know what with with some exceptions yours is really just so thrilled to it through the whole process and that makes you feel good because. I'm a big proponent in this idea of team and when I know that our team has really risen to the task and I hear great things about. Our carpenters and our electricians and plumbers and just you won a homeowner can rattle off. Oh and are was great and Terry was great and we love those guys who were common Leo were running the electrical. That makes me feel really. But what really look for me personally the passionate thing is. Taking these homes that have. They've begun to tire right and putting that new lease and then like we're just discussing. There's a lot of socioeconomic. Reasons why the inner city of Milwaukee is unfortunately on correct fallen but. A lot of it is is this that people didn't maintain the homes and remodeling is. To some people sounds like a vanity project an organ Ramallah kids tomorrow. We need to do it but yeah you do eventually because no kitchen last forever right so we can do these relatively modest projects I mean sure the great. Gold award winning ones and they have really really expensive ones what are nice and those aren't probably the modest just improve it. Let's dividend new lease on life what's let's reset the clock and a kitchen by fifty years that's awesome. Looser you finding. That and in I think the last couple of years as as we went from the box and now now really ticking upward. That it used to be that people would chest call. On companies like car pro bowlers and say look I need a new rough right need a new part of this kitchen. And now it's okay need depth but what do really of this when I want. And so the wants are now starting to get in the play and that and that makes a guy like me excited because. You know what business is great route Mary who live near remembers too and you'll really a lot of business right now. And when people are calling with their wants that means they're fuel pretty comfortable but were there who were there they. Are in their life. Yeah we're definitely seeing more of that. The big question that we try to answer her asking and getting answer for moral mortgages actually the why. Why are we doing this and those those are the ones that really feel. That great three when we can do that we just completed a bathroom master suite type model for client Ian. In an anomaly falls area and the while I was. If purses are wanna Ramallah this master bedroom bathroom okay great we can do this well but the Y is that she has a on. Adult son who special needs and she wants to get this house and so it's whistle that her son can actually ultimately live. And subtle why is in that we need to. Probably about three or you need to remodel this is a 1972. House. Trust me you walk in his bathroom you're gonna say yeah it's under Ramallah chair but it wasn't that it needs the look nicer it is the function. So it was really gratifying for us to kind of walk through that design process designed this so that could work. In the event that you know he needs to have you know assistance in the form right wheelchairs you know better way for a cyst that was exciting. So you almost that almost you look at aging in place. Even though the that this is younger man. That these these these things that you that you would normally do for for maybe a couple that skinny little bit older wants to stay in their house. You were able and accomplish for for her and so this young man can can get around it and if if he has to be able to be there for awhile himself he can do. Yeah that's that's awesome yeah you have to know why people are doing during projects and if if they only wise 'cause they don't like the way something looks. Generally speaking we're not a great fit for because I would rather. Question people's motivation reduced to just make sure there making good decisions remodeling is an expensive. Yes it's it people. When when he's had balanced with people we talked lets our real numbers real numbers are scary like where they're big and do you really want to do that just because you don't like the way that it looks well let's make it work let's make it release or renew the lease on that home so. I was gonna bring this up in a later in the show but bridge you'll open that the door for me I have not seen. A company. And then maybe I just haven't seen at maybe other companies to this. But you. I'd your website. You you're right out what you've really got to succeed him look for aimed a true remodel on a kitchen and you know this is kind of where we start out and so understand that if the if you wanna fully remodel your kitchen. This is where we start at and then we'll talk from their I think. Look I think that's really really Smart because the people that are gonna call you understand where they're starting act. An end there's all kinds that day and look Hewitt talked about his somebody just wants to tweak their bathroom and the reason they want to treat their bathroom is is. You know we're getting older we neither did the CG to place thing. Manny you you'd surely would would talk to depth but on your website. You guys is say bill B relationships. Building trust. And you talk about this openness and honesty when he comes your model. I think it's important and in and I I commend you for doing that. Well I think you have to and I think that's a don't think we're that unique in doing that on our website. We certainly are unique in that. If you'll go back five years ago I don't think I'm in Winston we're seeing a lot more out there. The reality is Mike we're gonna trick people in the spending money you know that there is a mind there's kind of old adage about contractors in Rogen and you're gonna tell you one number and then come in twice as high. Ultimately at the end of that you need to sign a contract I'm pretty sure that I can't get sleight of hand it to get you to double your budget. But the reality is I meet with people. In the give us there. There whistles than their budget they generally are at about half what it's really gonna cost us the that's us the reality of it so we might as well be honest and tell them truth right now rather than go through design and development process which can stretch out over months. And then ultimately sit down with a counter that's twice what they want to spend if it's going to be twice what you wanna spend I should tell you right now right because then you can decide doesn't make sense for us were together. Do you think less question for get your break in have asked this a lot but I I would love Europe and the united tease reality TV shows. Love and her list stint that Kenseth could for your business or bad for your business. Oh no I mean they're. It isn't as long as you. Going to watching those and know that anything that they tell you for numbers for time for feasibility. Is all I mean it's TV don't believe what you saw on TV don't fully reader read the Internet. If you look at different ideas and you find the fun in aunt and you find it entertaining great a local people think about all improvement. I love when people get interest and and in it but. Don't use it is your source of facts. The arm I think those shows have has made the idea of an open concept kitchen. Explode because I can't find one of those shows that the people don't come in and say I want an open concept kitchen. And I I find that. The last when I was a kid growing up on Bartlett avenue on the side the kids who was a focal point. It was you know you have family and everybody kind of hung or on the kitchen and and then it moved off into the living air year the dining area. And of people by EA it would have been my mom her grandmother that time due to cook it would've been away from nest. Now and no shows have really shown the value of an open concert kitchen and I think that in your business those shows. People have to understand it can't get done in a week he's actually depends. Or 4000 dollars well correct I think most people Q and I expect the average the average consumer is is a lot more educated than they work. 510 years ago just because there's a lot of information out there. Really could see your conversation is great. Your email to me this perfect world where you had and I'd love it is that there's a lot of questions and a half you use loose wire he's general manager. Carmel Carmel builders you can go to a Carmelo builders dot com their web site. Here locate an apt to an avenue in the nominee faults for number 262. 25522302622552230. This is them walking near home improvement show. I'm sports Radio One 057 FM the fans. You're listening to an airy home improvement show with big time Mike may giver and only on sports Radio One 057 FM the fan. I was up what your question had 4147991250. Well welcome back to mark. Near homer provincial on sports Radio One 057 from the fans I might we cured once had my posts in special guest he's loose wire. He's a general manager for Carmel builders. Go to Carmel builders dot com for more information who's earlier in in the show when asked who would get too excited you talked about talked through with clients. Arm after the their pride he is is done is that something that you do a lot of as the owner. I try to you know anyone that I've been involved with either myself or one of our our approach consultant so the way our our team works as we got up on the front and a project consultant to kind of it's a project pitcher and I do a little bit that I still do improbable 25% of our our sales and and bring bring you erupt point 5% prize excite the ones that I do. That I and the presidents on the and in essence I will sit down meet with with them so. I'd like to spend a little more time in their clients as we've as a grown as we spend. We get a team together. I will be icing my my role do more of that because that is enjoyable that the talk with people on to find out. I look finding out what we could've done better to be perfectly honest with you because. Oftentimes homeowners will be soul thrilled with everything and they'll say oh but there's this one little thing and you know. Not that it bothers me but. You know this is how I felt and it's it's great and all that up and drove meeting last night with. The woman who we we complete a project for geez that you have a very. The last just two weeks were kinda tough because it just is elegant lasted forever and it but what according to schedule you guys told me that are bigger night had some maybe we should dissect our view. A couple weeks as far as an agency and all these Austin Weezer and I can't stink it is again that would have been great because. The schedule and you're doing what you said you're gonna do but I guess I didn't really understand it so that's great. You bet for me I had my wife and I have problem with their bath. Just a few months ago and down we had it wasn't up it wasn't from the company bath fitter but it was like about that are and I would turn good the water on an out Kinney and to take a shower and feel like I was stepping on ear. In ahead and I Neary contrary to come out and now the water wasn't turned on the and I stepped and you keep your splashing. And so the water caught underneath that factors going in the all up. And we had to redo this and and and we we re delighted that wall for that time I had to. Go to the whack at 4:35 in the morning and char with naked Tanzania and and I'm telling yet. You know I know what she was feeling bad the last couple of days felt like it was forever. It was forever but we're so happy and her Nomar about afterwards the only one in the policy only one even off me to Bryce who won a house. Hate during argue we we've talked now for forty minutes and during our conversation. You've said there were team a number of times. And with that tells me about you is is you understand the importance. Did the definition of team is tour war horse is pulling the similar direction for common goal. That's what the definition of team missed so when you talk about your group and the people that work for you would work with fewer karma builders to. There were tee was important. Absolutely it you have to have that there is. There's basically two types of people who do Richards as a companies that do. Home improvement. And they're either the one man shop where one person self performs everything. And that person. As a lot of roles that they need to handle and frankly. Those people tend to be stressed out tired because it's a lot of work for one person to do you have got one person you're in sales and marketing. And billing and designing and swinging a hammer and doing customer satisfaction and then there's the other. Type of firm which is somewhat like us and and Michael a lot of our merry members which is a team of people working together it to get it done. And I know I love being part of the team we really seven number of arc in plays. Who were. That one manner one woman show we have a lot of well there's a there's a lot of women in my office and I joke around I kind of working through different worlds in the office my. I too proud to consultants and one of my project managers is actual in my office manager. And a so I. You know I had I got I've got I got there at the women in the obvious that I got a job site and unfortunately. Majority of the trade through or still mad and I'll tell you about something it's really important to me is. Really getting more diversity into the trades I will tell anyone listening right now if your daughter wants one of trades you must be an electrician plumber. She did you really really well we have got eight absolute lack of women in the trades and it would be a great opportunity for anyone interested he. Going down that path area are you guys looking now higher at this point he's urge your job openings were not we don't have any job openings but I will tell you that just because majority of our work is done by it by dedicated trade partners right subcontractors have. I will tell you that we have Al question almost all of violates all overtures are looking for what I could use another good guy and that's when I I've I'm I'll be. Badger Camellia ME TCU for the carpentry chassis that has program. And that's something we talk about all the time and I am when we meet we meet every on six months with faculty and the dean down there. We need more. Excited. And enthusiastic young people moving into the trades and carburetor is just want an electrical plumbing each BAC masonry they're all looking for it as well. Do you think that I know were coach bass while already agreed to more Luther they have a wood shot that walk by every day. With with kids in there. That are excited to make some of the things they're making a you know. Birds values food feet holder and they make tables and they make. Some just beautiful work. And I don't know if if that's being done. All over the Syria any more numb wondered if kids. You don't you you you'd you listened. Chew a lot of people they select. For a while for a one time people who said yes go to college. 22 to be really successful and be able to say you made it you have to go get that four year degree that possibly Duchscherer masters and and what I'm from what I'm talking about every Saturday morning is like your dedicate a partners. They're looking for people that I'd get up get out of bed at 8 o'clock you very cute to work at 8 o'clock. Work til 55. Maybe six days a week feel really good about who the are and what they've accomplished and make a living wage. Well this is something very very close to my heart something or feel very passionate about. And I feel something that we need to that we need to really look at as community in change our our paradigm of of what it means to be successful as young adult. And you're actually right for so long we've preached this idea that you need to go to count and you go to college Buehrle Cecil you have to go to college. And I think it's because people my parents' generation. Yeah so few of them did they they wanted parents want to see their children you've done better than them. And so I get that but the problem is is that what we're doing his were taking a lot of kids. Don't necessarily want to go to counts they don't necessarily have the interest or drive to do that because it's a unique. Thing and it is not for every I recruit and were sending Smart Smart kids. Who are motivated in the college where they don't do too well they may be fail automated just kind of go through the motions they come out and that was a tremendous amount of debt. It until job they don't hear and that he had to get the job they don't necessarily love and how you've set basically this this that were. The standard Renault can I have to work in this job I don't love for ten to fifteen years the pale a debt right. Where. We're taking them. These good kids who may do would loved to have been a curb and I'll tell you what I'm Carpenter makes a pretty good wage if he's not doing bad and he gets he gets three and a half weeks of paid vacation a year. He gets paid holidays he does OK I mean Adam Pacman talks salaries I know her but he does well and he's happy and he worked a 4045 hours a week. Sending plumbers electricians the other part of it like that that that makes me feel destroyed disappointed is that. Were then taking. The kids who messes the reality is there's going to be some kids who are just kind of are really going to be briefly successful matter what we're similar cure screw off. Usually going to wood shot you should going to shop is going to be in were taking the kids who aren't that strong. We're probably not tennis be very successful in the next ten years there was the matter what are some kids are gonna figure it out to the thirty sure we get it that's wife. But now we're taking that some of the best kids. Stealing him away from something would be good that were taking you know that that 2% of just kind of whatever right steering them into this so. Yeah ME DC we're seeing you know. People applying and saying hey were interested in in getting in the per with a number of kids who really really passionate excited and and employer like myself from my partners it's oh my gosh on a hard that kid right away. Getting too many of them we're not getting until they turn thirty and they realize hey this is what I wish I would done all along. Geno and and what's in stressing to me is is my dad who was hootie you know a group of far read and like I said of recorder Mason. He would put me the cars a little kid and we are drive downtown and he would say I built that. I was on that rough last week. I built that we did this my company that that he was so proud. How he was so proud to take his kids and say look this is what this is what I've built look at all these cool things I'm do want. Andy you know I. I wish that he would've had the patience to teach one of these you made me go to tech as a freshman was horrible there. I just wasn't he good at it because I hadn't ever done any of the stuff. Before I would watch him do a pretty never say he wants you try this you know let's let's do this thing together and I think I think you're right without. And I think if if we can some odd change that. That discussion. And that conversation. I think there's a lot of Cusick and make a lot of money be really proud of what they're doing. Yeah I mean you're doomed maybe you're cut out to him is Mike I don't know that's Arnold worked man could show our hard work I know what those guys and as TEs but Utley watt. We don't have a lot of young Mason's out there now on it that I see that personally as the biggest shortcoming organ leniency in the next. In the next ten to fifteen years I was. We have got so many and schedule now and I got them all of drizzle made some jurors so strong through those guys time guy up. What I am picking up or bread press are I could take and I. His fingers. When he would only a little wacky church not goodness guys should hang out and those guys underhanded like all of our guys you're going to break my hand I. I'm a pretty strong pretty fit guy in these guys could probably lift me up I might. Road without without even get taken it deep threat will continue our conversation he's loose wire. Well aisles like to start with the end in mind Mike in the end result of of a project or the development of project is to have a it very detailed set of plans. The detailed scope of work and detailed set of specifications. So. We need to get to there are so we start with though a face to face meeting with one or priced consultants were gonna talk a little bit about what you want to do. Talk about the wide like I said it you know why do you wanna do what route trying to accomplish here with the big picture on it or talk budget right away. Because we need to know you know budgets a driver obviously if you if you don't care much it costs. Can do anything yet you bat and I and the amount of Islam Nico I should be had a senate I believe the number is zero. I believe it's zero I'm pretty sure that it is it's still holding tight at zero when you find that I had when you give me his number out right now I said no I want to be opposite you know you shouldn't because that that would be all they're said joneses but Zorn talk about the budget wouldn't talk about some options so that we. Take AM Peralta was small retainer to move into what we call our preliminary design and we're going to give you some options some ideas there what's possible welcome redo. What things could be done and give you some few back and hey if we go this direction you're looking at a dollar investment figure somewhere in this strange or here's a really cool idea weakness would be great but it. Doubles are budget what do you think you want to go there. Lot of home wanted to make an educated decision on what direction we're gonna go and we move into what we call full design and during the fall design phase of a project. Everything is is figured out from. Cabinets countertop foreign. Back splash appliances. Paint colors you name it all the things of build up. Did the details of the project and helped create the price of at the end of that. Full design process. You're gonna know what you're getting. You're gonna know how much it's gonna cost and morals of military balance in it takes against a sign them sign the construction agreement with the real miles we don't go to contract with allowance is are to be determines it's over some very rare occasions. And then next step the I looking on your website you lay this whole process out really really well. And third for me as a consumer I like to Noll that you know what when we first have that conversation. What we talk about now when we get to design phase. Mean what's Kenny what's gonna Carlo body at that point. And did the here's your new guys it will help him Reid did we re did part of her kitchen. And did the Vegas the toughest thing for me was the hard work. I didn't realize or worse you know. Nineteen different to vetoed and rolls of all that was heart. I'm an Irish and our final decisions I was maybe and can you imagine I should've gotten some help but that's an. There is there's so many things that figure out yeah we help and everyone is different some people want us to hold there hands. Or through other ones as wants some direction and some they want to do on their own. Will work with the are real and he's come back if you have possible coming back and look sometime later this year I look forward to loose wire he's general manager. For Carmel builders.
